Service Project

During the month of May, St. Philip’s, through the inspiration of Laura Beck, will be collecting basic medical supplies for the people in the town of Bopolu, Liberia. This is a very poor village in Africa with a population of 3,000. They are in need of many things like roads, churches, houses and electricity but this year we are asked to concentrate on basic medical supplies. The Women’s Auxiliary’s Mother’s and Others Luncheon will be held on Sunday, May 7th. We will be having a speaker “Michele Quigley” a local photographer who was featured in “Lancaster on Line” about the importance of documenting the women in our lives. Director of Music, Steve Sauer is issuing a call for recruiting new cantors to lead in singing the Mass. There are some spots available this spring for anybody wishing to join our roster of cantors. To qualify, you must be a Catholic and have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. First-time cantors should receive a little training too.
