Purpose
Guys and Dolls is an organization for those fifty years of age or older, who enjoy socializing with their peers on a monthly basis. The club provides a chance to meet with friends and acquaintances or to make new friends and acquaintances on the first Monday of each month from September through June at 1:00 p.m. in Saint Philip’s gym.
Meetings
Meetings consist of varied types of entertainment for thirty to forty-five minutes, followed by a brief business meeting and concluding with a delicious refreshment. Members pay five dollars ($5.00) per year in dues and one dollar ($1.00) per meeting to cover the costs of entertainment and refreshments. Members may contribute one dollar ($1.00) toward a fifty-fifty (50/50) drawing which is disbursed in five dollar ($5.00) increments.
Travel
Guys and Dolls has a very active travel committee which plans and provides trips, both day and longer (a favorite is one day to local casinos). Travel is optional for members but available for those who are interested.
Community Service
We collect staple food items to be distributed to a food bank during the November meeting, and soda can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House at all meetings.
Members
December and June meetings are catered dinners which members pay for if they choose to attend. Our membership is over (400) people and average around two hundred (200) people at the monthly meetings. We welcome any and all who wish to participate!
