Lectors, sometimes known as Proclaimers, have the tremendous responsibility of bringing the Word of God to the people at Mass. They read the first and second readings, and the Petitions or Prayer of the Faithful. Those in this ministry must be dedicated and exemplify good Catholic Character. With their voice they must be able to clearly proclaim the word so that those present will be able to hear it with reverence. To be a Lector you must be 16 years or older and go to at least one of the training sessions offered. The first will be on Tuesday, July 5th and the second one offered will be on Wednesday the 20th of July. Both will be at 7:30 P.M. Prayerfully consider if this is the work to which you are called. By sacrificing your time in the preparation of the delivery of the word, you will be His mouthpiece bringing His voice to comfort and minister to his people.
