St. Philip’s Women’s Auxiliary is a dynamic and integral force in the Parish life. It was originally established to educate and build up the unity in the parish though spiritual, educational and social activities but has grown into so much more. Currently the Auxiliary has close to 60 members. Some of the activities the women support are sending encouragement and sympathy cards, hosting a banquet for members, sending flowers to shut-ins, sponsoring basket bingo, working at St. Mary’s Homeless meal, supporting the Relay for Life and sponsoring projects for the parish from their treasury. Some of the organizations that have benefited from their generosity include the Rosary Guild, Vacation Bible School, Catholic Heart Work Camp, the pre-school, and St. Philip’s poor and needy fund and private families in need. Currently they have agreed to help pay for 2 granite benches for the St. Philip Statue where a memorial will be placed to honor Fr. Hamola. Another worthy cause that is being considered is to replace statues for the Christmas Crèche with some financial collaboration from the Men’s Club. There is so much more going on like daffodil days, and coupon books as well as jewelry drawings. If you would like to be a part of this diverse, multi-talented, action packed group, please contact Karen Hirschberger, President.
