Deacon Ross Beighley

Deacon Ross Beighley has been serving at St. Philip’s parish for over 18 years. He graduated Northeast
Catholic High School and took engineering courses at Villanova and Penn State. He was ordained a
Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Harrisburg. He has since taken a variety of courses relating to his
Pastoral Duties and has numerous certifications from various institutions. He has an A. S. in Pastoral
Care from Summit University. Prior to St. Philip’s Deacon Ross served at St. Catherine’s Church in
Quarryville for 11 years. He was a Hospice Chaplain at Hospice Preferred Choice in Harrisburg, and
Hospital/Hospice Chaplin for St. Joseph Hospital in Lancaster for 15 years. He is a Coordinator-presenter
Team in the World Wide Marriage Encounter, had Pre Cana Training, is a Founding Coordinator for
Retrouvaille in the Diocese of Harrisburg, is a Founding Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus
Council 9164 in Quarryville, is an Assistant Spiritual Director for Cursillio of Harrisburg and has been
active in many other organizations through the years.

Deacon Ross is married for 50 years to Louise and has three daughters and 11 grandchildren. As an
ordained Deacon his ministries here have been to assist the Pastor at church services, visit the sick, help
educate the parishioners. He also helps with Baptisms and first Friday visits. He and his wife Louise
show their smiling faces at many Parish events from Guys and Dolls, to Funeral Luncheons, to Parish
Council and so on. They are a strong force behind the scenes, praying and supporting the parish in ways
we don’t even see.
